Baby's First Ballgame At KeySpan Park [16 Aug 2007|10:27am]
Baby’s First Ballgame, this September 3rd at 1 PM, brings back baseball’s first couple Dave and Carrie as they celebrate their one year anniversary with the Brooklyn Cyclones at KeySpan Park in Coney Island. Dave and Carrie were married on the field after a game last July. A year later, they’re celebrating the birth of their baby girl Kate with the Cyclones and inviting all NYC families with a baby or pregnant mom to join them.
We’re also raising money for Autism Cares at this event- with an auction and some great raffle prizes.
There will be lots of contests, giveaways, and prizes for babies and their families.
All pregnant moms in attendance will be throwing out the ceremonial first pitch, and all families with a child under 3 will be allowed to run the bases on the field after the game!
For more info or if you have a business or organization interested in coming, you can email dave@thekbuzz.com

Looking for something to do? Fashion, Music, Networking... a perfect NYC experience! [07 Jul 2007|02:30am]
[ mood | ecstatic ]

Next week, Thursday July 12th, a really cool event called VERVEnyc happening at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. The event, which is geared towards supporting up and coming young talent in the art/design/entertainment industries, will feature 3 really amazing bands (my personal favorite is Liam and Me, a recently signed band from Philly) and 8 incredible new designers from The Fashion Institute of Technology and Parsons School of Design, including one who recently designed the clothing for some of Beyonce's backup dancers in her new video "Freakum Dress" and another who was part of a team who sewed the entire tour wardrobe for Panic! At The Disco last year. Zulema Griffin, a contestant from Project Runway season 2 will be the guest designer of the evening.

The night begins at 8pm and goes until 12am. There will be music, bars for those 21+, an hour long fashion show with some really amazing work, press, special guests and industry professionals. A great opportunity for networking, experiencing an event with the true spirit of New York, or just enjoying yourself for a unique evening of entertainment! (Hot girls modeling, cute guys who can sing, a room full of cool New Yorkers - what more could you ask for?)

As if that isn't enough, for those of you aspiring to be models or actors, there will be a couple castings at the event, including one for the new faces of Laser Cosmetica - the premeir medical spa in New York and Philidelphia which runs advertisements in magazines nationally and newspapers are the NY area. The evening is also going to be documented for a spot on MTVU's "My Summer Break".

*Please note this event is 18+*

Tickets are only $30 and available ONLINE ONLY at http://www.ticketmuncher.com (VERVEnyc is under featured events)

(I know we're all "poor college students" but lets face it, thats how much we spend on dinner with friends, or a shirt at H&M... and this is an irreplaceable experience!)

For more information on the event, designers and bands, visit http://www.nycverve.com or
http://www.myspace.com/vervenyc, or send a message to the myspace and someone will get back to you right away!

iPod? [11 Feb 2007|07:11pm]

[ mood | hopeful ]

my boyfriend has a brand new, green iPod Nano- he got it almost 2 months ago and hasn't used it at all. it retails for $199, but he's willing to sell it for $175, or even $150 if you're nice about it. ;)

he lives in park slope, and i live in midtown, so either one of us could meet up and give it you- voila! no shipping and handling either! haha

x-posted a buncha places...

The Floor is Lava!(myspace.com/thefloorislavaband)--A band of bleeding raw garage, out to bring Rock and Roll back!

Cool and Unusual Punishment(myspace.com/coolunusualpunishment)--Awesome indie trio whose members' diverse influences make their music a unique and mind-blowing experience.

Dulaney Banks(myspace.com/dulaneybanks)--A heart-breakingly soulful blues duo whose riffs make you wanna cry and whose singer makes you wanna sing too. It's hard to be a sincere, original blues band these days, but they've done it.

Question for the New York college students! [03 Nov 2006|04:41pm]

Hey -
I have a pretty random question for anyone here who goes to school in New York and lives in a dorm. What are the standard times that you can sign someone in and out of your dorm? Is there a limited number of hours that the desk is open? Either way, please reply and tell me what school you go to and what the rules are [if you know]. Thanks!

I recently picked up some dangly earrings that I really liked, but I don't have pierced ears. This may be common sense, but does anyone know if it is possible to get them made into clip-on earrings by street vendors? And if so, about how much would it be? Thanks!

Upper East Side? [02 Aug 2005|04:07am]

Hey all,

I've been living in the Chelsea area for the past year and need to move to a 1-bedroom by 9/14. I was trying to stick to the West Side...I work on 16th and 9th...and it's easy to get to most of NYU's campus location. I was of this thinking until I saw some places in the UES today. I liked the area, but I'm still concerned about relying solely on the 4/5/6. Also, I just don't know that much about the area. Can anyone here offer some advice or stories?

Thanks in advance,

Roommate search! [01 Apr 2005|03:34pm]

Hi, I haven't posted on here too much, but I figured I'd try now. I'm almost 19, and I'm going to be a sophomore at PACE University next year.

I'm hopefully getting an apartment over the summer and for school next year, but I've been unable to find a roommate. Is anyone looking to move into an apartment? I'm going to be a theatre major, just for reference. Whatever kind of apartment I'm going to get is going to have a doorman and be in Manhattan, soo yeah. My email is NewYorkker@yahoo.com and my AIM is NyewYorkye. Email/IM me if you're interested!!

help! [08 Mar 2005|03:56pm]

i'm wondering if people could give me some advice on the difference between FIT and Parsons (besides the obvious one of cost!)
i've applied to FIT and i've already been accpeted to Parsons. Parsons is my top choice - however, it might be too much financially for my family. SO, FIT is probably second on my list... unfortunatly from most of what i've heard, Parsons has a better rep for fashion design, and it's students have a better rep, etc. and i'd just really like to get my facts straight because a lot of what i've been hearing from BOTH schools has been pretty biased...

...any comments? thanks so much!
